Description
These Monte Cristo Sliders are a delightful mix of sweet and savory, featuring layers of ham and cheese enveloped in a rich, French toast-like batter.
Ingredients
Scale:
- 12 Slider buns (mini brioche or Hawaiian)
- 8 ounces Deli ham
- 8 ounces Swiss cheese, sliced
- 4 large Eggs
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/4 cup Maple syrup
- 1/2 cup Butter (for greasing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Slice the slider buns in half horizontally and layer the bottom halves in the prepared baking dish.
- Top the bottom buns with slices of ham and cheese, then place the top halves of the buns on.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and maple syrup until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the assembled sliders, ensuring all are soaked. Let them sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the sliders are golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar and serve with extra maple syrup.
