Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and milk. Mix until well combined, about 2 minutes on medium speed.
  3. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish, smoothing it out with a spatula.
  4. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Spoon dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter, then swirl it gently with a knife.
  5. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the cream cheese layer, followed by the remaining cake batter on top.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top of the batter. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. While the cake is baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting by beating the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until light and fluffy.
  8. Once the cake is done, allow it to cool for about 10 minutes before spreading the frosting on top. Allow the cake to cool completely before serving.
