- 1 medium onion, sliced

- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 pound kielbasa or smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
- Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the vegetables: Wash the cabbage thoroughly and slice it into thin strips. Cut the onion into thin slices.
- Heat the pan: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil or butter and let it heat until shimmering.
- Sauté the onions: Add the sliced onions and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they become translucent.
- Add the sausage: Incorporate the sliced kielbasa or smoked sausage and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Add the cabbage: Gradually add the sliced cabbage to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Season the cabbage: Sprinkle in garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to coat the cabbage.
- Sauté until tender: Continue to cook for about 10-15 minutes until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.
- Final touches: Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Optionally, add hot sauce or red pepper flakes.
